Honestly, I don't think there are any tricks to make hair grow faster. Just as long as you take good care of it, don't dye it too often, don't brush when wet, better to use a comb. don't blow dry too often. etc. I have very thick hair but its easily damaged. If you got the money, and you don't mind em try wigs. I love wearing wigs cause they are much easier to care for and you can change your look instantly.

I went through a phase of cutting and excessively dying my hair, and now i see the mistake i made.

My hair hasnt grown at all since summer 07, and its in awful condition, plus i have about 6 layers in my hair, and the shortest bit is about 1/2 an inch long

the same probelm happened. i m black, what i did is stop wear ponytails, cuz if u dont it well still get shorter. then, i got my perm at 3 weeks, cuz if dont got a perm trust me you wish u did. then, i went to a store called sally's (u should have one there) there is a conditoning thing called olive oil for hair . that helped my hair so much but, i cut short. maybe if u try that it might helped.

My hair WAS SO damaged like about 2 years ago so I cut it to my shoulders. Although NOT all off the damage was cut off it was a big difference! Since then I had to cut it a couple more times and its finally about 4 inches down from my shoulders! But the problem I have about 1 inch of split ends! So I have to get a trim on saturday because I don't want it to get any further. I use to damage my hair constantly but now I don't at all but all that damage that I did to my hair before bit me in the a s s because my hair is not growing !

For about 8 months now I've had peach fuzz on my face, I've shaved it 8 or 9 times, but not really needing to ( its noticable close up but not far away ) I've noticed more hair coming in, but very very slowly.. As a hairdresser I can tell you that on an average hair grows half an inch a month. I would suggest getting trims on your hair every month or every other month. Tell your hairdresser you only want a smidge off the ends not even half an inch just enough to blunt the hairends. Not getting trims will not make your hair grow faster. If you are going to demand rights every where you go, your hair isn't going to be your problem. You won't fit in to any group. As soon as you have more than one person in a group there needs to be give and take to make it work. The more people you have, the more give and take needed. The more you demand the less you fit in. One needs to find the groups that best fit one's needs. So, if you don't fit the school go to one that lets everyone have their hair anyway they want. It would make a good picture.

k well the problem is... i am a swimmer who swims everyday monday - friday. and i straighten my hair mosty everyday. But i dont straighten that well. i just got over it quicky. And right after i swim i take a shower. but my hair still doesnt grow. Any suggestions? =]

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

Turbie or towel wrap your hair only for a few minutes, just to blot it. Now, gently comb again. Let your hair air dry. Put it in an updo or a braid to protect it and keep it neat. Yes, a braid or an updo is a style! Not everyone has the guts to be different, elegant and wear them, tho.

Some other hints to help with split ends. Instead of trimming all the time, just do search and destroy. Sit in a sunny spot or in a room with bright lighting. using small, extremely sharp scissors, examine the ends of your hair and then just cut off the splits, just above the split. Leave the undamaged hairs alone. Do regular S%26amp;D missions and you can skip a lot of trims. You will have to snip splits a lot, at first, but as your hair gets in better condition and you snip away the splits, you will have fewer of them. If you keep your hair in good condition, you should only need to trim a couple of times a year and your hair will grow much faster, because you won't be cutting off all your growth.

Avoid heat. Blow dryers, hot rollers, curling irons and especially flat irons are death to hair and cause split ends. If you must blow dry, use the lowest hjeat setting, it should only feel gently warm to your skin and a low fan speed. Use your fingers or a seamless wide tooth comb to gently comb the hair to prevent tangles. Remember, don't brush wet hair!

The only suggestion I can poffer is to say, after you wash it, put some conditioner on it, then heat a towel and wrap around the base of your neck to cover the problem area, it works for me.

Well, you may not believe this but I have seen it work. Try rubbing in some garlic (just with the cloves or juiced) for some time. I know a guy who had gone almost completely bald and he did make his hair come back. I don't know how this works or why, and I can guarantee it is going to be smelly but just try it for a period, and see what happens. Hair does not start to grow automatically though. It starts off like a gentle down, more like babies' hair but gradually it gets stronger.

The ONLY way to cause vellous hair to become terminal hair is by exposing the follicles to testosterone; if you don't have testes, an androgen-producing tumour, or PCOS, you won't develop it in any significant amount.

And, contrary to popular myth, shaving has NO effect on the growth pattern of any kind of hair; it WON'T grow back thicker if you shave it off.

Once a follicle becomes terminal, it doesn't change back; which means, once you start growing facial hair, it won't go away; it's permament. The only way to remove terminal hair, once it develops, is by destroying the follicle, by electrolysis or Laser treatment.

If you are a transsexual man, and want to develop permanent facial and/or body hair, ask your gender specialist or endocrinologist to prescribe testosterone for you; nothing else will do it. Don't waste your money on 'herbal' preparations; they don't work.

Okay so my hair is about a little past my shoulders. I want it to grew a few more inches but I always trim it about every two months because I hate the feeling of unhealthy hair. for free -- massage your scalp, for easily obtainable -- use mustard oil or almond oil, rub into your scalp, and leave overnight. you can buy both oils relatively inexpensive at an indian grocery store. i had a horrible haircut and a middle eastern woman told me that mustard oil was the best (try to get past the smell -- the results are worth it.). also to save on salon shampoos and conditioners, add almond oil to your regular shampoos and conditioners and you will get better than salon quality.

I am trying to do the same thing, growing it out. It all depends on the person because some peoples hair grows really fast and others really slow. But try taking just a regualr vitamin such as flintstones it will not only help your hair grow but it helps you to be healthier and also use a shampoo that increases hair growth. I use Garnier Fructis long and strong (for hard to grow long hair) thats what it says on the bottle and lemme tell ya it works good. but if your going to use that get the shampoo and conditioner, they will work more efficiently if used together. Also massage your scalp in the shower for about 10/20 seconds while shampooing your hair it will loosen up the haor follicles. Hope this helps...

I am a male. My hair is straight overall and is very thick, yet very fine. I currently have a mullet. I have a mullet because i am one of the few people who actually look good having one (I get good comments all the time) and it looks good on my face. However, i have a problem i need advise on as i have never grew my hair this long before. Even though my hair overall is straight, it tends to curl up at the very ends in the back and there appears to be a "dent" in my hair on the back about midway. What should i do about this? It sounds just like you need a bit of a trim. Your ends are probably curling up since they are growing out. It's best to trim about every 8 weeks. Your hair will still get really long! Also, the line can be from your neck. It might be ok for the first hour or so, but once it totally dries, then line shows up.

The flip can also be cause if your hair is just at, or just past your shoulders. It's now used to laying there, so it tends to want to curl. You can make that go away (and you might hate this idea) but flat ironing it. I would try a good trim, first. Have them cut it all to EXACTLY the same length (not undercut) and it will lay under, and not tend to flip-out.

let me dispel the myth that "our" hair won't grow. i'm living proof that it will. when i stopped using alot of heat and left it alone (with braids then ponytails), i was able to grow my hair from 3-4" to almost waist length in three years.

I've only grown my hair once. I finally decided to cut it a month ago. Everyone at work was surprised because they haven't seen me with short hair before and they like this one better. Grow it, but go to the hairdressers once a month or every 2 months and just ask them to thinen it out a little, make sure to tell them you want to keep the length everytime. My step brother is a mobile hairdresser and he cuts mine every month, i've kept it at a certain length so far but I might tell him im going long again. Advantages: It's like instant dreads.

Disadvantages: It is a chemical process. Dreads formed by perming often require professional maintenance. Cost, $200-$400!

Instructions: Save your money. Find a salon that does dread perms.

Twisting

Advantages: It is all natural. You have control over the size of the dreads and how they form. Many salons are familiar with this method and the cost is usually much lower than a dread perm.

Disadvantages: It only works in African textured hair but that doesn't mean salons won't try it on Caucasian hair!

Instructions: Hair should be sectioned into squares. Square sections make round dreads. Between 1" and 2" squares works well for most people. Smaller sections make thinner dreads. As you section the hair you can secure each section with a rubberband. When the whole head is sectioned twist each section clockwise using a comb to snag the hair at the ends and twist. As each section is twisted dread wax should be worked in to hold the twists. Thick waxes without petroleum hold the hair much better when starting the dreads. After the dreads mature thinner waxes can be used to add fragrance and sheen. Rubberbands can also be used at the roots and tips to hold the hair for the first couple of weeks. Be sure not to attach the rubberbands too tightly, nice and snug will do the job just as well and should not break any hairs. Hair should be twisted by hand regularly to help it lock up.

Dreads can also be started in short black hair without sectioning by hand. The hair can actually section itself. To do this you need short curly African textured hair about 1/2" thick. I have a growth just below my belt line that is about the size of an average pencil eraser. Its charectoristics could be described as soft, brown (non-skin color), circular but uneven texture, with hair growing from it.
