in a teenager and i am black my hair is shoulder legnth barley and its been like that for years and it just wont grow no matter how many perms i get please help

uhhh....... i hope u havent gotton 2 many perms cuz i have no clue if they would make ur hair grow longer, but they could damage ur hair if u used the chemicals 2 many times. also, i doubt perms would lengthen hair unless u meant a straight perm? in that case, u could ask about thermal reconditioning but its super expensive and it only works for some hair types. i dont know if its possible to just suddenly force ur hair 2 grow longer but maybe getting a trim, hair extensions, and/or u could look at these sites that give u tips:

i would try the other sites first though b4 getting all negative. if u want more sites, try google by typing something like grow hair faster or something. and again, i would get a trim, like maybe 1/2 an inch to an inch

FIRST. Perms do not HELP your hair grow they actually slow down growth.

I suggest to use really good hair products, not cheap stuff and if you want it straightened, get it done at a salon and dont get perms.

Fell first of all perms are awful for your hair because they cause breakage, so it looks like your hair isn't growing. Try regular trims, shampoos/conditioners that are low in alcohol, and try Doo Gro products (available at Sally Beauty). They work great!

Why did you get a perm? it will only make your hair grow slower and it will damage your hair! go get extentions!!!

You can't really make you hair grow faster because it is genetic. And your hair IS growing, but since you put chemicals in it, it breaks off a lot because of the damage. What you should do is get a strengthening shampoo and conditioner and start washing your hair in cold water. I use garnier frutics length and strength for my relaxed hair and I wash in cold water and take my vitamins everyday and my hair has finally grown past my shoulders. Also try to trim you split ends off every 4-6 weeks so it doesn't damage your hair any further. That should help.

EDIT: And don't listen to Hawaii girl. Extentions will only cause further damage to your hair and you will have to cut your damaged hair off, thus making your hair shorter.

Make sure you wash and deep condition your hair once a week or try getting it braided.

Go to GNC or Vitamin world and buy Hair skin and nails. (vitamin) That's the name on the bottle. Get the one in the glass bottle (brown bottle). You only have 2 take it twice a day after meals, well the directions are on the bottle. ur hair should start growing within a week. depending on ur type of hair. Regardless it's for all hair types.
