im arab and my hair grows average fast and so do my arab friends and family but my african american friends hair grows so slow and my asian friends very fast

It depends on the texture of the person's hair.

Most African Americans hair grows out in a spiral form whereas other races hair will grow out in a strait form.

I'm not sure why you think race has to do with the rate at which a persons hair grows because it also has to do with the individual and genetics.

I can't say that I have ever thought about a connection between hair growth and race. I don't think that there is one and that hair grows at different rates for different people. But the best way to promote hair growth is to have a trim up often. My partner and my son's hair grows really fast, whereas mine not so much, and I think it is because the boys are always getting their haircut to keep it short and I haven't touched mine for about six months.

Remember that curly hair seems to grow more slowly because the strands coil up. Straight hair lies flat that's why it looks like it grows faster.
