Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks? A friend told me this, after I told her I am growing out my hair (boyfriend is in love w/long hair...am already 1/2 way there...only a couple more inches to go...with the exception of shorter side-swept longer bangs that I have)...... help.

Why don't you inform yourself about what hair really is before you start making decisions about it. Attached you'll find out some really surprising things about hair from Wikipedia:

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

No. In fact, hair grows about 1cm a month. Trimming it frequently defeats the purpose!

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

True, but if i were you , dont.

Maybe once a month is ok too. Apparently if you cut your hair when the moon is waxing (i.e. getting towards full) your hair will go grow quicker. I've known about this for years and I do think there's some truth in it!

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

No, it isn't true. It just keeps the hair healthier because it elimnates the dead and split ends.

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

No, hair grows about 1/2 inch per month so the more you cut it the shorter it will become.

People can tell really ignorant things.

I get my ends trimmed off every six weeks. It seems to grow faster, and is much healthier.

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

It won't make it grow FASTER. All it will do is stop the ends of the hair from breaking off or splitting so much, and that will make it healthier, which will make it SEEM to grow "faster".

You could try taking supplemental vitamins, such as prenatal vitamins. Or calcium and vitamin E. I also have heard the rumor that some types of "horse" shampoo is supposed to work...I forget what it's called though...something about Mane %26amp; Tail or something. Sorry I can't remember!

Anyway, good luck growing your hair out! I love long hair...mine is down to my waist. =)

Hair grows out of the top of your head. The only thing trimming does is take the brittle ends and get rid of them so your hair looks longer because it is healthier. Get some good vitamins and plenty of water and protein and your hair will be long before you know it!

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

it goest actually grow faster asin come out of your head faster but it will get longer faster becauseif you dont cut you hair regularly it tends to break at the ends a lot making it seem to grow slower.

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

no, because your hair grows from the roots.

trimming is good every once in a while to keep the ends healthy but not to help it grow.

they have shampoos that supposedly help your hair grow faster.

also try tugging on your hair a little bit when you clean it. a friend of mine does this and said it helps it grow faster. not sure if it works

good luck!!

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

no...your hair will grow the same whether you trim it or not

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

they say it is true but i don't trust

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

your hair will continue to grow as long as you keep it healthy and keep heat and chemicals if possible out of it. yes you do need to trim the split ends but that in itself doen't make it grow faster. everyones hair grows at its own rate!

Is it true that hair will grow faster if it's trimmed every 2 wks?

No it will not make it grow faster. Hair typically grows 1/2 inch a month, cutting your hair will not change that fact. But trimming it does help to remove split ends. I would trim it maybe every other month just to keep it healthy. If not, you'll just have really long limp, lifeless hair..... not very attractive.
