I got my hair cut about a year ago, and my hair used to be down to the middle of my back i got it cut up to my shoulders and its only grown like and inch since then and i really want my long hair back but i straighten my hair every day (i was born with really curly hair) does straightening it fry my hair? does it break my hair which is keeping it from growing? do u think i should give my hair a break so then it will grow or is straightening it not the problem?

you're damaging your hair..try to use alot of conditoner and don't blow dry it all the time or straighten cus it makes it all dry. and i know if you always keep your hair tied, it grows faster.

It would definately grow healthier. You should style it with a blow dryer to keep it from breaking, as with a straightener. If you have really curly hair, use what God gave you and accentuate it! You should stop straightening your hair right away. GIve it a break! Use a good conditioner. and I agree with some of the others. TIe it in a pony tail especially before you go to bed.

Straigntening can damage the hair then the ends split. I was having that happen because I did not cut it for a long time. When I started getting trims every 2-3 months and just having them cut off the damaged part then it started growing better.

It won't break off as much and you can achieve longer lengths. I don't use any heat on my hair at all, not even from a blowdryer, I barely get any breakage at all.
